At the London Cosmetic Skin Clinic we have seen more and more men turning to cosmetic procedures to achieve the look they desire and to help reverse the effect of aging on their skin and bone structure. One such procedure that is popular with men is our micropigmentation treatment for hair loss and scar camouflage on both the scalp and face. Whilst micropigmentation is a different effect to hair transplants, the latter of which is more suitable to areas with longer hair, this treatment is effective for disguising a receding hair line and scarring. For example, if you have a facial scar, you will notice that your beard or moustache doesn’t grow in that area making it both noticeable and making your facial hair look less groomed and less symmetrical.
Micropigmentation is similar to a tattooing process in that we use very fine needles to implant pigment into the skin but the final result is not permanent. At your consultation we will discuss what results you are aiming to achieve as well as assessing the condition of your skin. Our micropigmentation consultant has undergone rigorous training and is renowned for her artistic eye so she can carefully disguise scarring and hair loss without the end result looking false or obvious. This treatment can also be used to cover patches of vitiligo.
The treatment can be quite uncomfortable so we numb your skin before starting work. Straight afterwards your skin may appear red and the pigment may look quite dark and harsh but as the skin recovers it will settle down to the final colour.
