Excessive Sweating Treatment

Botox for Excessive Sweating
As well as helping to minimise lines and wrinkles, Botox can help to stop excess sweat from several areas of the body including armpits, palms of the hands, soles of the feet and other places that may have overactive sweat glands.

Excess sweating can prevent you from leading a full, active life as it can make you self-conscious, you may find yourself carrying spare clothes at all times and some people avoid sports and other activities they avoid. Our treatment paralysis the muscles that produce sweat so it is not produced and therefore not released through the skin. As the treatment wears off, sweating will gradually reoccur and you can have a repeat treatment if you wish.

What is Botox?

Botox is the commonly used name for Botulinum Toxin, a protein produced by the Clostridium Botulinum bacterium and it relaxes muscle tissue by temporarily blocking nerve impulses. This lack of muscle activity means that the lines and wrinkles that they cause are also reduced.

It is one of the most common types of cosmetic treatment and has been widely used since 1989, then approved by the FDA in 2002. Botox is popular among men and women and whilst it previously had a bad reputation for giving a false, waxy appearance, we can now deliver subtle yet effective, natural-looking results.

Our Botox specialist doctor has performed over 10,000 treatments over the course of over 12 years and is consistently professional, gentle and reassuring so you have extra peace of mind that you are being taken care of.

What to expect from the treatment

We apply a numbing cream 15-30 minutes before treatment and then a series of small injections is administered. After the treatment you must not rub the treated area for at least 4 hours afterwards and avoid sports for 24 hours.

You will start to notice results around 1-2 weeks after the treatment and these will last approximately 6 months. You can decide whether or not you want the treatment repeated.
