As well as smoothing out lines and wrinkles, Botox can help you to smile with confidence. A ‘gummy smile’ occurs when the upper lip lifts up too far above the upper teeth, exposing some of the gum, when a person smiles. This can be caused by several factors, the most common being hyperactive muscles or a thin upper lip. Botox can be used to reduce muscle activity in the upper lip and therefore stop it from over-elevating.
Why use us?
At the London Cosmetic Clinic we only use FDA-approved, premium products for our treatments including Botox and Radiesse. We offer a free non-obligation consultation where you can discuss your desired results with us and we can explain the best course of action. After your treatment we offer a follow up appointment so that we can monitor your results and a completely free of charge top-up treatment if necessary 2 weeks after the original treatment. This helps to ensure that you get the best possible result.
We are located in the heart of Knightsbridge in a very easily accessible area.
What to expect from your Botox treatment.
Prior to the treatment the area may be numbed to minimise discomfort before small amounts of Botox are injected. Within 3-4 days post-treatment you will notice that your upper lip does not elevate as highly when you smile and you will be able to see the final result within 2 weeks.
The entire treatment takes just 10 minutes and prices start at £99.
Whilst most people are suitable for Botox, our Botox doctor will assess your medical history during your consultation to decide for certain if you are a suitable candidate for the treatment.
Please inform us if you have any pre-existing medical conditions, including-
- Any diseases that affect your muscles and nerves such as Lambert-Eaton syndrome or Myastenia gravis.
- Allergies to any Botulinum toxin products.
- Pregnancy, plans to become pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Facial surgery or plans to have surgery.
- Any medication that you are taking.
There may be minimal side effects after Botox injections such as bruising, swelling and redness but these are temporary. You should avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area for at least four hours post-treatment.
The effects usually last around 4 to 6 months and we recommend that you have the treatment repeated every 4 months for a lasting effect. If you choose not to continue with the treatment, your smile will gradually revert back to its original appearance.
