Most, Cyst and Lipoma Removal

At the London Cosmetic Clinic in Knightsbridge, our dermatologist has a sterling reputation for removing imperfections such as moles, cysts, skin tags and warts. Our doctor has years of experience and has removed thousands of moles, cysts and other kinds of skin lesions.

We will carefully assess the imperfection before advising the best method of removal. Whilst the majority of these imperfections are benign, there is a small risk that they can be carrying cancer cells so we send the sample off to a lab for testing to be on the safe side. The skin lesions that we can treat include-

Moles- A kind of blemish that can be found anywhere on the face or body and can come in vaious sizes, colours and shapes. These are more often than not completely benign but some people choose to have them removed for aesthetic reasons.

Cysts- These can appear anywhere on the body and in any kind of tissue. They are small sacks of fluid or semi-fluid.

Warts- These typically appear on the hands or feet and can resemble a solid blister or look like a small cauliflower. There are around 10 different varieties of wart and are caused by a viral infection. They are normally harmless but can be contagious, don’t always disappear by themselves and can reappear.

Skin tags- As the name suggests, these are small pieces of skin that protrude on the body, normally on the armpit, eyelid, groin or neck.

What Removal Treatment does the Clinic Offer?

The London Cosmetic Clinic offers several different treatments for removing skin lesions. Our dermatologist will assess it carefully before advising the best method and either a topical or local anesthetic will be administered to minimize any pain or discomfort. These removal methods include-

Ellipse IPL treatment- Suitable for flat moles, this method involves using intense pulsed light to disperse the pigment.

Shave excision- This method involves using a dermablade to remove moles or skin tags from the surface of the skin. It leaves a very small wound which may be cauterized to stop any bleeding and to tidy it but does not require any stitches. The procedure takes around 20 minutes and the area usually heals within 2 weeks.

Hyfrecater treatment- The hyfractor treatment is suitable for all kinds of skin lesions and utilizes a piece of low-powered medical apparatus used in electrosurgery. As well as destroying the tissue directly it stops any bleeding and the treatment only takes a few minutes.

What to Expect from the Treatment.

All the treatment methods are relatively quick and you can resume your normal activities straight away after. Thanks to the aneasthetic you will not feel any pain from the procedure, bar a slight scratch when it is administered, but you may feel some soreness and discomfort as it wears off. There may be a small scar after the treatment but this will not be as noticeable as the original lesion. We recommend that you use a scar minimizing moisturiser such as Bio-Oil or a silicon-based gel for 3 months post-treatment. Silicone scar-minimising gels can also come in plaster form for when gels are not appropriate.
